Tactacam Reveal Pro 3.0 review: the no-glow Reveal, and what 16 feet of flash cost you
Tactacam's own numbers say it: 80 ft no-glow on the Pro against 96 ft low-glow on the X 3.0, with shorter battery life. In return you get invisibility, a screen and on-demand audio video on the same plan.

Who it's for
Two people. The public-land or pressured-property hunter who has had a low-glow camera spooked or spotted and wants an invisible flash inside Tactacam's ecosystem; and the person who wants a screen on the camera so setup doesn't depend on a phone connection at the tree. If you're neither, the X 3.0 gives you more reach and battery for less.
No-glow to 80 ft, and the 16-foot trade
Tactacam's Pro 3.0 page: "No-Glow IR," "Flash Range 80' (24m)," "80ft+ Detection." Its X 3.0 page: low-glow, 96 ft. That 16-foot gap inside one brand is the cleanest illustration we have of the 940nm penalty, and Tactacam's comparison post adds that the Pro's battery life is shorter depending on settings, because the no-glow array pulls more current. None of this is a defect; it's physics, and it's the same trade every no-glow camera makes. What you should do about it: set the Pro so the trail is 20 to 40 feet out, not 70. Screen, on-demand video, GPS
The "2-inch LCD screen with live aiming" is the Pro's most practical advantage over the X 3.0, which has no screen and aims via Wi-Fi in the app. With a screen you hang it, check the frame, and leave. The Pro also has "on-demand video and hd photo requests" and, per the comparison post, audio-enabled on-demand video, where the X 3.0 can only have video requested. Built-in GPS pins the camera on the map; the Ultra's GPS battery backup (which keeps reporting after the batteries are pulled) is not listed for the Pro.
Trigger and the spec Tactacam doesn't publish
"Sub-1/2s Trigger Speed." That's the whole number, for every Reveal. Spypoint says 0.3 s, Moultrie 0.30 s, Browning 0.25 s with a 0.35 s recovery. "Sub-half-second" could be 0.2 or 0.45; we score it as 7/10 on the trigger axis for that reason and would revise the moment Tactacam publishes a figure or an independent measurement appears. Power: 12 AA, 12V, panels
Twelve AA (not included) and a DC 12V input. Tactacam's Folding Solar Panel (7.2V/4,900 mAh, 12V/2A) lists the Pro 3.0 by name, as does the V2 panel (7.2V/5,200 mAh). With the no-glow array's extra draw, a panel or lithium AAs are the right call for a set you visit rarely.
The plan and Xtra

Pro 3.0 vs X 3.0 vs Edge 3 Pro
Against the Edge 3 Pro, the other no-glow camera at this price: Moultrie publishes 0.30 s and 100 ft, Trailcampro put it first in 2026 cellular detection, and it shoots 1440p; the Reveal Pro has AAs and a 12V jack where the Edge is USB-C only, and Tactacam's account-wide Xtra beats Moultrie's per-camera Unlimited at three-plus cameras.
