The three billing structures
- Flat per camera (Spypoint, Moultrie, Reconyx): four cameras cost four times one camera. Spypoint softens it with a free tier and annual discounts; Moultrie doesn't.
- Per camera with discounted additions plus an account-wide add-on (Tactacam): the first camera is full price, additional cameras are a dollar or so less, and the HD/on-demand add-on is one fee for the whole account. The more cameras, the better it looks.
- Descending per camera (Stealth Cam Unlimited): $20, $15, then $11 each. Expensive to start, gentler as you add.

The free tier is real: 100 photos, $0, "no activation fees, one plan per camera." Annual billing is where Spypoint wins outright ($10/mo unlimited). Unlimited is $13 for the first camera, $12 for each after; four cameras is $49/mo. Xtra, the add-on that carries unlimited HD photo and video requests and on-demand, is $9/mo for the whole account at three or more cameras. Standard at $5 for 600 photos is competitive with anyone. Unlimited at $20 for the first camera is the highest first-camera unlimited price we verified; the descending schedule brings four cameras to $57/mo. HD video downloads are $0.25 each on Standard; Live View is a $5/mo add-on for 60 minutes.

Cameras we claim to have field-tested: none we don't own
Plenty of sites say they hung every camera on this list in a tree for a season. We don't say that, and we say so on every page. What we do instead: read the maker's published trigger speed, flash type, battery configuration and detection range; verify each brand's plan tiers on its own plan page and compute the real monthly cost at one and four cameras; cite the independent shootouts (Trailcampro, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, TechGearLab) as their measurements, never ours; and score every pick on a public rubric. Every figure links to where it came from.
