Spec sheet, side by side
Three things the table shows. Spypoint publishes a trigger number (0.4 s); Tactacam publishes "sub-1/2 s," which could mean the same thing or better. The Reveal's flash range is 96 ft to the Flex-M's 90 ft, both low-glow. And the Reveal has a 12V jack and a 12-AA tray; the Flex takes AAs or a LIT-22 lithium tray pack and has a matching 10W panel with cords. Neither is no-glow. Both have a two-year (Spypoint) or one-year (Tactacam) warranty on the maker's page.
The Flex-M2 is in the table because it's what you should buy if you were going to buy a Flex-M: same 0.4 s and 90 ft, but dual-SIM carrier hopping and a GPS locator for $20 more. CAMLOCKbox notes its Flex Box 10 fits the Flex-M but not the M2, which matters if you already own a box.
One camera: the plan decides
Verified on both plan pages, September 21, 2026:
- Flex-M / M2: Free, 100 photos a month, $0. Basic 250 photos $5/mo ($4 annual). Premium unlimited $15/mo ($10 annual).
- Reveal X 3.0: Starter 250 photos $5/mo ($55/yr). Pro unlimited $13/mo ($120/yr). Xtra add-on $4/mo for one camera.
With one camera on a scrape or feeder, 100 photos a month is often enough, and the Flex costs $0 to run. If you need unlimited, the annual Premium at $10/mo beats Tactacam's $10/mo annual Pro only by having the free fallback. At one camera the Flex-M2 is the cheaper system in every scenario, and the Reveal's advantages (96 ft flash, 12V, three-photo burst, live streaming) are what the extra money buys.
Four cameras: the plan decides again, the other way
So: photos only, Spypoint stays cheaper at four cameras on annual billing. Add HD requests and on-demand video across all four, and Tactacam's account-wide Xtra pulls level or ahead, on better hardware. That's the whole comparison in one paragraph, and it's why our main ranking puts the Reveal X 3.0 as "best for 3+ cameras" while a Spypoint wins overall. Power and mounting
The Reveal's 12V jack takes Tactacam's Folding Solar Panel (7.2V/4,900 mAh, 12V/2A) or the V2 panel; the Flex takes the LIT-22 (7.4V, 5.4Ah) in the tray and Spypoint's 10W SPLB-22 panel with a 15,000 mAh bank. Spypoint's setup has more capacity; Tactacam's is simpler. Both cameras have a CAMLOCKbox steel box cut for them (Box 4 for the Reveal 3.0 line, Box 10 for the Flex-M). Who should buy which
- One or two cameras, scouting a scrape or feeder, budget matters: Flex-M2 on the free tier. Upgrade to Basic annual if you hit the cap.
- Three or more cameras and you want HD and on-demand: Reveal X 3.0 with Pro plus Xtra.
- Marginal signal: Flex-M2 (dual SIM) or the Reveal (auto carrier). Not the single-SIM Flex-M.
- Long unattended deployments: Reveal with the Folding panel, or Flex with a LIT-22 and the SPLB-22.
- You need no-glow: neither. Look at the Flex-Dark or the Reveal Pro 3.0.

On hardware, yes: 96 ft vs 90 ft flash, 12V jack, GPS, live streaming, auto carrier selection. On running cost at one camera, no: the Flex has a free tier. At three-plus cameras with HD, the Reveal's account-wide Xtra add-on makes it the cheaper system.

Do both cameras work on Verizon and AT&T?
The Reveal X 3.0 lists auto carrier selection across major networks; the Flex-M2 is dual-SIM across all major carriers. The original Flex-M is single-SIM, per Spypoint's comparison table.
Which has better night pictures?
Both are low-glow. Tactacam rates 96 ft, Spypoint 90 ft. Spypoint's page says the Flex-M placed first in Trailcampro's 2024 cellular flash-range shootout. Neither maker publishes LED count. For no-glow, look at the Flex-Dark.
